Here’s some intel about our characters!
Learn the Dance July 15th, 3:45-5:45 at Westerville Library ( optional)
Dance Auditions July 31st, 3:15-5:45 at Westerville Library
Auditions (song/monologues) Aug. 1st, 9-5 Sunbury Library
Call-backs Aug. 2nd, 1-5:45 Westerville Library
If you are on vacation, you can send in a video!
You WILL have call-back music from the show ahead of time (not less than 24 hours before call-backs)
Everyone who auditions is cast. Tuition is $349.
Just to help our friends who aren’t sure is our mystery show is right for you, this is the junior version of the show. This means that the licensing agency has made a very big point of making this a family friendly environment for both the viewers and the actors, which is one of SPA’s core values. It is important to us that our actors and our audience feel comfortable. The junior adaptation is heavily streamlined to be a kid-friendly version for younger audiences and middle schoolers. The licensing agency, Music Theatre International, heavily redacts drug references, strong language, and explicit sexual allusions from the script before schools can perform it. We like the message of not having to change in order to be a valid confident person, as well. The core message of this show is the importance of authenticity, empathy, and inclusion. It teaches that it is far better to be true to yourself than to conform to peer pressure or compromise your values just to fit in or be popular.
Character Descriptions….please select a 60-90 second cut of a song that showcases your voice and character/personality from any theatrical show. You can use accompaniment tracks OR bring music with live piano. No Acapella Singing.
★ Character A is outgoing, smart, witty, confident and well-spoken(narrator)
★ Character B is very independent and does their own thing and is not afraid to be different and weird. They do hold grudges and affect their daily life.
★ Character C (Female) is a sweet, warm, intelligent and confident person. However, they will sacrifice their beliefs to fit in.
★ Character D is very sarcastic and funny.
★ Character E is confident, manipulative and clever in the social circle. However there are vulnerable moments.
★ Character F is a stressed-out individual and shows lots of nervous moments. Even though it appears they don’t care what other people think, they really do care.
★ Character G appears not very smart. In the social circle, they are very laid-back
★ Character H (male) is kind, nice and has good moral personality Pop Tenor range
★ Character I is very smart and confident. Sings solo in a rap style or speak in rhythm
★ Character J/K (Male and Female) Broadway vocal mix
